About Me

Advancing Environmental Science Through Nanotechnology

Professional Overview

I am a Principal Scientist and Head of the International Laboratory on Nanobiotechnology and Rhizosphere Bioengineering at Southern Federal University (SFedU), Rostov-on-Don, Russia. With extensive research experience spanning over two decades, I have dedicated my career to advancing environmental science and sustainable agriculture through innovative nanotechnology solutions.

My research comprehensively details the state-of-the-art understanding of how nanoparticles (especially ZnO/CuO, bulk and nano-size) interact with plants, soil microbial communities, and the larger environment. I develop remediation technologies using nanoparticles, nano-biochar, and nano-composites to address environmental contamination.

Global Recognition

Top 2% Scientist Globally

Ranked in Stanford University's list of world's top 2% potential scientists (2023, 2024, 2025)

Highly Qualified Specialist

Russian Federation status with 2nd rank in Environmental and Earth Science

Top 0.5% in Biological Sciences

Research Focus & Innovation

My current work concentrates on nano-bioengineering for soil rhizospheric microbes to restore soil health naturally and develop vegetation in barren/desert soils using multi-directional approaches. I employ cutting-edge methodologies including:

  • Metagenomics and CRISPR gene editing
  • Nano-biochar fabrication and application
  • Hyperaccumulator plant selection
  • Heavy metal tolerant microbe cultivation
  • Rhizospheric microbiome modulation
  • Sustainable agriculture solutions
